Dear Potential Member,
It is that time of year our public think that not much is going in with Hook Players as we are in between productions... but you couldn’t be more wrong.
We are actively seeking a play for our November production and play readings generally take place every 2nd Wednesday each month – send your details via contactus@hookplayers.co.uk for more information. These play readings are very informal and you don’t have to read if you don’t want to. It’s a great initial introduction to Hook Players (and there’s often a glass of wine to be had at these meetings...)
We also have a very active social calendar open to our members and friends of members including walks, quiz nights, summer barbeque etc. Also, if there is a particular production on elsewhere (either amateur or professional) that a few people are interested in, we organise group bookings which sometimes makes it cheaper.
We are now holding our TOAST evenings again which is where a small group of members get together and, over a few weeks (time to be decided by the people involved) a small production is put on to other members. It can be a 10 min play, part of play, lines learned or just rehearsed so it’s another great way to be introduced to Hook Players and how we work.
But it’s not all about being on the stage. So much goes on backstage including set design, painting and building, making costumes (you don’t have to be a great seamstress to be able to help), make up etc etc. I can guarantee there is something for everyone.
So, at only £1 annual membership fee, why not give it a go? Start the ball rolling by sending your details to contactus@hookplayers.co.uk.
We look forward to meeting you!
